Humayun Saeed, Star of ‘Love Guru,’ Shares His Personal Touch in Matters of the Heart
Renowned Pakistani actor Humayun Saeed has disclosed that his role as a ‘love guru’ in his latest film is not just for the camera—he claims he’s something of a love advisor in real life too.
Speaking alongside co-star Mahira Khan in an engaging interview with Waseem Badami, Saeed recounted how their professional paths have crossed repeatedly over the years. He revealed that he had approached Mahira multiple times for different films, including Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, and London Nahi Jaunga. However, Mahira politely declined each opportunity.
Mahira explained that she gravitates toward roles with serious or dramatic themes and generally avoids lighthearted or comedic films. Humayun respected her preferences, adding that creative compatibility is crucial in the industry.
On the topic of filmmaking challenges in Pakistan, Saeed pointed out that it takes considerable investment and courage to produce a film. The industry tends to be risk-averse, with filmmakers often waiting for a project to succeed before investing themselves.
When Badami asked Saeed to define what makes a ‘love guru,’ Saeed’s response was both humorous and insightful. “A love guru is not someone who just talks about love; he helps others understand the timing and nature of love itself,” he explained. “It’s about showing people how to care for each other properly.”
Saeed didn’t shy away from confessing that he often finds himself giving relationship advice to friends and colleagues. He emphasized that while love can come around more than once, it should always be focused on one person at a time. “If you’re in love with more than one person at once,” he quipped, “you’re not in love. You’re just in a mess.”
This candid conversation offered a peek into Humayun Saeed’s personal beliefs about love, making it clear that he truly lives the role he plays in his film.
