SRK Relates to Mufasa’s Journey
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently reflected on his personal journey while promoting his voice role as Mufasa in the Hindi version of Mufasa: The Lion King. In a heartfelt video shared by Walt Disney India, Khan likened his own experiences to those of the iconic character, calling himself a “semi-orphan.”
A Glimpse Into SRK’s Story
“If I was to not be humble and say, ‘Hann meri hi kahaani aisi hai (Yes, my story is similar),’ then it could fit in,” SRK shared in the clip. Elaborating further, he added, “Technically, anyone who loses their parents is an orphan. I lost mine when I was young, so I’m a semi-orphan.”
The King’s Parallel with an Outsider
The Jawan actor also drew parallels between Mufasa’s outsider journey and his own path to Bollywood. “It’s the story of an outsider. I had no family in the filmmaking business. Coming from Delhi to Mumbai, I’ve always been an outsider,” he stated.
A Royal Family Collaboration
Adding to the excitement, Khan’s two sons, Aryan and AbRam, have joined him in this project. Aryan voices Simba, while AbRam lends his voice to young Mufasa, marking a special family collaboration for the film.
An Upcoming Spectacle
Directed by Barry Jenkins, Mufasa: The Lion King serves as both a prequel and sequel to the acclaimed 2019 remake. Fans can expect the film to hit theatres on December 20, with Khan’s distinctive voice adding depth to Mufasa’s character.
