Love And War Reportedly Lands ₹300 Crore Global Theatrical Rights Deal

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Love And War has reportedly secured a major theatrical distribution deal ahead of its scheduled release in January 2027.

The film, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, has reportedly sold its worldwide theatrical rights to Pen Marudhar for around ₹300 crore, according to a report by Bollywood Hungama.

The reported agreement makes Pen Marudhar responsible for the film’s global theatrical distribution. The deal comes as anticipation continues to build around Bhansali’s latest project and its high-profile cast.

According to the report, several prominent companies and industry figures were interested in acquiring the theatrical rights to Love And War. The interested parties reportedly included Dharma Productions, Jio Studios and distributor Anil Thadani.

Following negotiations involving multiple potential buyers, Pen Marudhar reportedly secured the worldwide theatrical rights in a deal valued at ₹300 crore.

A source cited in the Bollywood Hungama report said there was considerable competition surrounding the rights. The source also described the reported agreement as a significant deal for Bhansali and the other stakeholders associated with the film.

The reported investment reflects the level of industry attention surrounding Love And War. The movie brings together three prominent Bollywood performers, with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal appearing together in Bhansali’s ambitious project.

The combination of the cast and filmmaker has contributed to expectations surrounding the film well ahead of its theatrical release. Bhansali is known for creating large-scale films with elaborate production designs, dramatic storytelling and distinctive visual styles.

For Ranbir Kapoor, the film also represents a reunion with Sanjay Leela Bhansali nearly 20 years after their first collaboration.

Ranbir made his Bollywood debut with Bhansali’s Saawariya in 2007. Their return to the director-actor collaboration has therefore become one of the notable aspects of Love And War.

Alia Bhatt is also reuniting with Bhansali after working with the filmmaker on Gangubai Kathiawadi, while Vicky Kaushal joins the project as another major lead.

The film has already begun attracting attention through its promotional campaign. Initial posters for Love And War were unveiled recently, generating considerable interest among fans and Bollywood audiences online.

The next major promotional development could reportedly be the film’s teaser. According to the report, Bhansali may release the teaser around the Diwali period, potentially alongside the theatrical release of Ramayana.

Love And War is currently scheduled to arrive in cinemas on January 21, 2027. The film’s reported ₹300 crore global theatrical rights agreement adds another significant development to its pre-release journey.

The reported deal, however, is based on industry reporting and has not been presented here as an independently verified figure. Further details about the film’s distribution arrangements and promotional schedule may emerge as its release date approaches.
