Pakistani actress Zoya Nasir has shared an interesting behind-the-scenes moment from her drama Bas Tera Saath Ho, revealing how co-stars Farhan Saeed and Sana Javed were initially surprised by her character’s appearance and portrayal as the main antagonist.
Speaking on a recent appearance on Fuchsia Magazine, Zoya discussed how her role as Sehreen was intentionally designed to challenge the traditional image of a television villain. Recalling the first day of shooting, she said that her co-stars were visibly surprised by her transformation. She shared that Farhan Saeed and Sana Javed looked at her and questioned whether she was truly playing the negative lead, as her appearance seemed too simple and ordinary for a typical antagonist role.
Zoya explained that the director immediately stepped in to clarify his vision, emphasizing that a villain does not need to appear glamorous or exaggerated to be impactful. Instead, he focused on building a character whose complexity lies in psychology and upbringing rather than outward appearance.
She further elaborated that Sehreen’s personality was shaped entirely by her environment and family influence. According to Zoya, the character does not see herself as wrong because her understanding of morality has been defined by her parents since childhood.
She added that Sehreen is not portrayed as purely evil but rather as a sheltered individual who has been raised in an environment where her decisions are heavily influenced by parental guidance. This lack of exposure to different perspectives shapes her actions and beliefs.
