A fatwa has been issued against the song Sarke Chunr Teri Sarke featuring Nora Fatehi, following widespread controversy over its explicit content. The track, part of the Bollywood film D: The Devil starring Sanjay Dutt and Nora Fatehi, faced criticism shortly after its release on YouTube.
Initially, Nora Fatehi clarified that the explicit Hindi version of the song was produced without her consent, attempting to distance herself from the controversy. Despite this, a senior Islamic scholar from the Muslim Personal Law Board, affiliated with the Darul Ifta in Uttar Pradesh, issued a fatwa declaring the song’s content haram.
The scholar labeled the visuals as obscene and described the song as a major sin under Islamic teachings, urging action against such material. The fatwa has intensified the public debate over morality, censorship, and creative freedom in the entertainment industry.

On the governmental front, the controversy has drawn official attention as well. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting confirmed that a ban has been imposed on the song due to its objectionable content, signaling enforcement against media deemed offensive or indecent.
This development highlights the growing tension between artistic expression and cultural-religious norms in India, particularly in Bollywood, where controversial content often sparks nationwide debate.
