International music fans are buzzing after British-Norwegian DJ and music producer Alan Walker made a surprise visit to Lahore and sparked speculation about a possible collaboration with the artists behind Pakistan’s popular song Alfaaz.
Walker’s recent social media activity has raised expectations of a potential new version of the track, possibly titled Alfaaz 2.0. Although no official announcement has been made, his interactions with the Pakistani singers and a video filmed at a historic Lahore landmark have attracted considerable attention.
The speculation began when Walker reacted to the music video of Alfaaz on Instagram. He appeared to notice a masked character in the video whose appearance resembled his familiar hooded style.
Commenting on the clip, Walker wrote, “Why is there a Walker in the video. Beautiful video btw”. His remark immediately caught the attention of fans, who began discussing the possibility of a musical connection between the international DJ and the Pakistani artists.
The song features Hamza Malik, Zain and Zohaib, whose work has attracted attention among Pakistani music listeners. Walker’s comment created curiosity about whether the masked character was a reference to him or an early hint of a collaboration.
Hamza Malik later responded to the international producer’s appreciation in a YouTube video. He thanked Walker for noticing their work and suggested that the mystery surrounding the masked character might remain unresolved for the time being.
However, Hamza also hinted that a possible collaboration could eventually provide an explanation, adding further excitement to the discussion.
The speculation became stronger after Walker shared an airport video on Instagram, indicating that Hamza had responded to his message. The development suggested that the interaction between the artists had moved beyond a simple social media comment.
Walker’s latest post from Lahore has added another layer to the story. In the video, the producer can be seen carrying a wooden box featuring his logo near Alamgiri Gate, a prominent historical entrance overlooking Hazuri Bagh.
The location, combined with Alfaaz playing in the background, quickly attracted attention from Pakistani fans. Many interpreted the clip as a possible promotional hint for a new musical project involving Walker and the singers.
The possibility of Alfaaz 2.0 has become a major talking point because it could bring together Pakistan’s emerging music talent and one of the internationally recognised names in electronic dance music.
Walker also expressed appreciation for the welcome he received during his visit. In the caption accompanying his Instagram post, he thanked people for their love and support, saying their kind words and comments made him feel welcome.
Despite the growing excitement, the artists have not officially confirmed whether a collaboration is planned or whether a new version of Alfaaz is under development.
For now, Walker’s appearance in Lahore, his exchange with Hamza Malik and the music featured in his latest video have given fans plenty of reasons to speculate. If the project moves forward, Alfaaz 2.0 could become an interesting meeting point between international electronic music and Pakistan’s contemporary music scene.
