Veteran Pakistani actor Raju Jamil has shared the story behind a memorable gesture he made for actress Hania Aamir, revealing that he offered Rs. 1,000 as sadqah after being deeply impressed by her performance during the shooting of the drama Anaa.
In a recent interview, Raju Jamil recalled that Hania delivered such an impressive scene during the drama shoot that everyone present on the set was left amazed by her acting skills. He said her performance reflected exceptional talent and emotional depth, which motivated him to appreciate her efforts in a special way.
The senior actor explained that after the scene was completed, he took Rs. 1,000 from his pocket and passed it over Hania Aamir’s head. While many people may associate such a gesture with warding off the evil eye, known as “warna,” Raju clarified that his intention was different.
He explained that the act was actually sadqah, a charitable gesture performed with prayers and good wishes for someone’s protection, success, and well-being. According to him, the gesture was meant as appreciation for Hania’s outstanding performance rather than simply a cultural tradition.
Raju Jamil also shared that he follows a practice of beginning his projects with prayers and believes senior artists have a responsibility to encourage emerging talent. He emphasized that experienced actors should support and motivate younger performers whenever they witness dedication and exceptional ability.
Hania Aamir has established herself as one of Pakistan’s most popular television actresses, earning widespread recognition through successful dramas including Mere Humsafar, Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, and Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha. Her performances have earned her a strong fan following both in Pakistan and internationally.
Recently, Hania was also among the celebrities attending the opening of the YSL Beauty store in Lahore, where her fashion appearance became a topic of discussion on social media. The actress continues to remain one of the most followed personalities in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
Meanwhile, Raju Jamil remains one of the respected names in Pakistani television. Born as Zulqarnain Jamil Aali, he is the son of renowned poet Jamiluddin Aali and has enjoyed a career spanning more than five decades.
